Terms of Service
Effective date: July 10, 2026 · Last updated: July 10, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Nameboard (the “Service”), operated by Thesis Labs, LLC. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What Nameboard does
Nameboard generates business and product name ideas and checks domain availability across multiple sources. It is an ideation and screening tool. It does not register domains, file trademarks, or provide legal advice.
2. The most important disclaimers (please read)
- Availability can change at any moment. Domain availability shown in Nameboard is a point-in-time signal from third-party sources and may be inaccurate or out of date. Always verify availability and complete registration directly with a registrar before relying on it. We are not responsible for a domain being unavailable, priced differently, or registered by someone else.
- We do not provide legal or trademark advice. Any trademark, app-store, or social-handle notes are preliminary screening signals, not clearance.A name appearing “available” does not mean it's free of trademark or other legal conflicts. Before adopting a name or spending money on a brand, consult a qualified attorney for trademark clearance.
- No guarantee of results.We don't guarantee that any generated name is available, registrable, legally usable, unique, or suitable for your purpose. Names are suggestions.
- AI-generated content. Names, rationales, and any brand suggestions are produced with the help of AI and may be inaccurate, generic, or coincidentally similar to existing names or marks. Use your judgment and do your own checks.
- The Service can change or end.Nameboard is a living product. Features, limits, prices, and plans can change, and the Service itself may be suspended or discontinued (§6 and §8). Don't rely on any feature or plan being available indefinitely.
3. Accounts, sign-in, and eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old(or older where required) to use the Service. If you create an account or provide an email, you're responsible for the accuracy of what you provide and for activity under your account or session.
Sign-in is passwordless: we send a one-time code (or sign-in link) to your email address, and there is no Nameboard password. That means your email inbox is the key to your account — you are responsible for keeping your email account secure. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you, and we may treat instructions from your email address as coming from you. Tell us promptly at help@thesis.do of any unauthorized use.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service or its limits, or create risk for us or other users (§4 and §15).
4. Acceptable use and fair use
You agree not to:
- Use automated means (scraping, scripts, bots) to access the Service or to exhaust, overload, or circumvent rate limits or our AI usage;
- Create multiple accounts, identities, email addresses, or browser sessions to evade request limits or other restrictions;
- Share, resell, or pool account access to circumvent per-account limits;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service's outputs as a competing name-generation or domain service;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, probe, or disrupt the Service, its security, or its providers;
- Submit unlawful content, infringe others' rights, or use the Service to harass or harm; or
- Misrepresent your identity or your authority to provide any data you submit.
The Service is subject to fair-use and rate limits (including daily request limits) that protect it for everyone. We may apply, change, or enforce limits, throttle requests, or suspend, ban, or terminate access — with or without notice — for conduct that violates these Terms, evades limits, or threatens the Service, at our reasonable discretion.
5. Your content and the names you generate
- Your inputs. You retain ownership of the text you submit. You grant us a license to process it to provide and improve the Service as described in the Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the right to submit it.
- Generated names. Generated names are short words and phrases. To the extent we have any rights in the raw output we generate for you, we don't claim ownership of the names themselves and you may use them. However, no name is granted to you as exclusive, and a name being suggested does not mean you have any trademark, IP, or other right to use it — that depends on your own clearance and use in commerce. The same or similar names may be suggested to other users.
- Boards.If you make a board public, you're choosing to share its contents (names, domains, notes) with anyone who has the link.
6. Plans, pricing, and request limits
- Free tier. The Service offers a free tier with daily request limits. The current limits are shown in the product and may change at any time.
- Paid offerings. We may offer one-time passes or upgrades that unlock a larger request allowance or additional features, as described at the point of purchase. The specific features, allowances, and price shown at the point of purchase control over any general description here or elsewhere.
- We may change pricing, features, request limits, and plan composition at any time. The posted price and allowance at the time of your purchase govern that purchase only. We don't guarantee that any price, plan, allowance, or feature will remain available, or that a plan you bought will be offered to anyone else on the same terms.
- Allowances are what they say, no more. A paid plan may provide a daily request allowance, a fixed number of uses, or specific features, as described at the point of purchase. Unused daily allowance does not roll over or convert to credit unless the point of purchase says otherwise.
7. Purchases and payments
- What a purchase buys. A one-time purchase buys access to the features described at the point of purchase, for as long as we operate the Service. It is not a perpetual license, a subscription entitlement to future features, ownership of any software, or a guarantee that the Service or any feature will continue to exist (§8).
- Legacy purchases. If you bought an earlier paid product that we no longer offer, we continue to honor the entitlements described at your point of purchase for as long as the Service operates.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; by purchasing you also agree to Stripe's terms. We don't store your full card details.
- Digital goods are delivered immediately and are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we choose to provide a refund (e.g. a clear technical failure to deliver). To request a refund, contact help@thesis.do.
- Prices may change prospectively; changes don't affect a purchase already completed (§6).
8. Service changes, suspension, and discontinuation
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice. That includes adding, changing, or removing features; changing limits and plans (§6); and maintenance downtime. If we permanently shut down the Service, we will try to give notice where reasonably practical, but we are not required to.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable to you for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service or any part of it. Your sole remedy is to stop using the Service, and any liability we do have is capped under §13.
9. Affiliate links
Some “check at registrar / buy” links may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you register a domain through them, at no extra cost to you. This never changes the availability results we show you.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on and links to third parties (registrars, domain-data and AI providers, payment processor). We're not responsible for third-party services, their availability, pricing, or content. Your use of a registrar or other third party is governed by their terms.
11. Intellectual property in the Service
The Service itself — its software, design, and branding (excluding the names we generate for you and your own inputs) — is owned by Thesis Labs, LLC and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty regarding accuracy, uptime, or availability of results, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Thesis Labs, LLC and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost domains, or business losses, arising from your use of the Service — even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service — including any claim arising from a change, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service or of any plan or feature — will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Thesis Labs, LLCfrom claims and costs arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third party's rights (including your adoption or use of a name without proper clearance).
15. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may throttle, suspend, or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you violate these Terms, evade limits, or create risk for the Service or other users, or as part of discontinuing the Service (§8). Sections that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, limitations, IP, indemnification, governing law) survive termination.
16. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Before bringing a formal claim, please email us at help@thesis.do — most issues can be resolved quickly and informally.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. If a change is material, we'll give notice — by email or an in-product notice — before or when it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept them. If you don't agree to a change, stop using the Service.
